How to Park Your Car in 3 Kinds of Parking Spots

Parking a car properly is an essential skill for every driver. Here’s how to park in three different kinds of parking spots:

  1. Parallel Parking: Parallel parking involves parking your vehicle parallel to the curb between two parked vehicles. Follow these steps:
    • Find a suitable parking spot that is at least 1.5 times the length of your car.
    • Signal and pull up alongside the vehicle in front of the empty spot, leaving about 2-3 feet of space between your car and theirs.
    • Shift your car into reverse and check your mirrors and blind spots.
    • Begin backing up slowly, turning your steering wheel sharply to the right.
    • As your car’s rear bumper passes the rear bumper of the vehicle in front of the empty spot, straighten your wheels and continue backing up.
    • When your car is parallel to the curb and centered in the parking spot, straighten your wheels and adjust your position if needed.
    • Use caution and avoid hitting the vehicles in front or behind you.
    • Turn off your engine and engage the parking brake.
  2. Perpendicular Parking (Parking in a Parking Lot): รับจำนำรถจอด involves parking your vehicle at a right angle to the curb or parking space lines. Here’s how to do it:
    • Approach the parking spot slowly and signal your intention to park.
    • Align your car with the parking space, leaving enough room to maneuver.
    • Begin to turn the steering wheel to the right (or left, depending on which side of the parking spot you’re entering) as you approach the space.
    • Straighten the wheels as your car moves into the space.
    • Center your car within the lines of the parking space.
    • Use caution and watch for pedestrians and other vehicles.
    • Once parked, engage the parking brake and turn off the engine.
  3. Angle Parking: Angle parking involves parking your vehicle at an angle to the curb or parking space lines. Here’s how to do it:
    • Approach the parking spot at a slow speed, signal your intention to park, and position your car to enter the parking spot.
    • Align your car with the angle parking lines, leaving enough space to maneuver.
    • Turn the steering wheel to the right (or left, depending on the direction of the parking spot) as you approach the space.
    • Continue to steer until your car is at the desired angle within the parking space.
    • Center your car within the lines of the parking space.
    • Use caution and watch for pedestrians and other vehicles.
    • Engage the parking brake and turn off the engine once parked.
